Weather
There are three main seasons in Thailand.Summer is during the months from March to May. The climate is tropical, which means that it has a long, dry season from November to May, a short, rainy season from June to October, but there is also plenty of sunshine from June to September.
Climate: Tropical, with a mean annual temperature of 28C and high humidity. Very hot in the Central Plains and South, cooler in the northern hills. Overall best time to visit is November to March when days mostly dry and the humidity lower. Although, the Gulf of Thailand (Samui area) is best from June to September.
In the southern areas of Thailand, the seasons are influenced by the Malaysian Peninsula, with more rain than the northern areas.
Bangkok experiences flooding in the rainy season.
It is cool from October to February.
Temperatures
The average annual temperature is 28 degrees Celsius (83 degrees Fahrenheit). Rarely going above 35 degrees Celsius (96 degrees Fahrenheit) or below 18 degrees Celsius (65 degrees Fahrenheit).
Humidity
The humidity is much lower in the northern areas, but very high in the south and can be quite trying to the visitors used to cooler countries.
Bangkok
The rainy season is between the end of May and November. Temperatures range from 20-24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 31-35 degrees Celsius.
Phuket (South)
The rainy season is between the end of May until November. Temperatures range from 23-25 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30-32 degrees Celsius.
Ko Samui (South)
The rainy season is between end of July until November. Temperatures range from 23-25 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 26-29 degrees Celsius.
Chaing Mai (North/ North East)
The rainy season is between end of April until October. Temperatures range from 14-23 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 28-36 degrees Celsius.
Hua Hin / Cha Am (Central Plains)
The rainy season is between end of July until November. Temperatures range from 26-30 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 29-32 degrees Celsius.
Pattaya (Central Plains)
The rainy season is between end of June until October. Temperatures range from 20-25 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30-35 degrees Celsius.
